Time To Eat: Potato and Sausage Pizza

Pizza is the perfect comfort food and also scientifically proven to be addictive (probably), so sometimes you’ve gotta get jazzy with it. Zesty potato, sausage, and arugula wheat free pizza. BOOM.

This recipe makes 1 pizza, but the GF pizza crust I use can make 2 pizzas per package.  You’ll need:

1 package Gluten Free Pizza Dough Mix (I use Bob’s Red Mill
1 medium onion
3 small potatoes
2 cloves of garlic
3 T olive oil
1 sprig of thyme
1 ball of mozzarella (sliced)
3/4 pound of Italian sausage (I used hot to give it the zest!)
1/3 c. alfredo sauce (I use Newman’s Own)
1 t. pizza seasoning
1 t. sea salt
1/2 t. pepper
1 T. garlic powder
1/3 c. shaved parmesan
1 handful baby arugula

Cube potatoes into very small pieces and slice the onion

Throw into a pan with the salt, pepper, garlic powder, and olive oil

While the mixture is cooking, make the pizza dough and add the pizza seasoning

While the dough is rising, start cooking your sausage in another pan, and preheat your oven to 425°F.

Slice the 2 cloves of garlic and set aside

After your dough has risen, take half and lay it out on a well oiled pizza stone.  Take the sliced garlic and press into the dough.  Pre-bake for about 10 minutes

While the dough is cooking, the potato mixture and sausage should be about done, throw in that thyme and stir

After dough has pre-baked, add the alfredo sauce

Then add the potato mixture

Next add the sausage

And then the mozzarella

Bake until mozzarella is melty and top with your arugula and shaved parm

Serve and eat uuuup
